Favero Assioma Power Meter
Before the Assioma power meter, "Favero Electronics" launched the bePRO pedals in mid-2015. At that time, we were quite skeptical at first, because Favero was completely inexperienced in the field of power measurement in cycling. Until then, the Italian company had mainly produced electronic hit detectors for fencing and had no connection to cycling. But the bePROs have proven to be quality power meters and Favero has since raised the bar a whole lot higher with its successor "Assioma".
In addition to the standard Assioma, which is based on the Look Keo standard, there are now two other pedal power meters in the Assioma family - the Assioma Duo Shi and the Assioma Pro MX.
With the Assioma Duo Shi, you can retrofit an existing Shimano pedal in the SPD-SL standard with a power meter.
The Assioma Pro MX are based on the 2-hole SPD standard and are particularly suitable for gravel, MTB and trekking.
We have had excellent experiences with all versions and can recommend them without reservation!

Power measurement at the pedal
Measuring power at the pedal is not that easy. Global player Garmin took a long time and delayed the market launch of its Vector pedal several times to bring a functioning system to market. For example, if the foot sits a little further in or out on the pedal, the leverage and force on the measurement electronics change quite a bit.
We have tested many Assioma on a calibrated Cyclus II ergometer and it has shown that Favero does not have to hide behind other manufacturers when it comes to measuring accuracy.
Light and robust
In daily use, the Assioma are robust and uncomplicated. The electronics are fully potted and therefore completely waterproof. A big advantage for weight weenies: with only 299g for both pedals, the Assioma are lighter than many pedals without a power meter!
Compared to the previous model, mounting the Assioma to your bike is now very easy. Simply screw them on like a normal pedal, calibrate and you're ready to go.
Single or double sided power measurement
The Assioma are available as a single-sided (Assioma Uno) or double-sided (Assioma Duo) system. If required, the single-sided Assioma Uno can also be upgraded to a double-sided Duo using the upgrade kit.
The Assioma Duo Shi is available as an upgrade kit for existing Shimano pedals in SPD-SL standard. However, we also offer the Duo Shi pre-assembled on Shimano Ultegra pedals.
The Assioma Pro MX is also available as a single-sided (Assioma Pro MX-1) or double-sided (Assioma Pro MX-2) version in the Shimano SPD standard.
The single-sided Assioma Uno power meter is sufficient for most athletes. The prerequisite for accurate power data with a single-sided system is two equally strong legs. In case of muscular imbalances - i.e. if the left leg is stronger than the right one - the Assioma Duo is more suitable, as it measures left and right leg separately. In addition, the Assioma Duo can also give further insight to the pedaling motion. If you want to dive in deep, the Assioma Duo is the better choice.
The Assioma power meters are permanently available from stock!
