Rotor Power Meter
Rotor is known for their oval chainrings, the Q-rings. For some years now, Rotor also builds power meters and currently has 3 different power meters in the range:
1. Rotor InPower
2. Rotor InSpider
3. Rotor 2InPower
All Rotor power meter are fully compatible with the Rotor Q-Rings (oval chainrings).
Rotor InPower crankset
The InPower series is the cheapest and simplest series. Nevertheless, with the InPower Rotor offers an interesting alternative to the top dogs such as Favero Assioma or the Stages power meters! The InPower comes as a complete crankset and is available as a Road and a MTB version.
The power is measured via strain gauges in the left crank arm. The Rotor INpower is a one-sided power meter. The electronics except for the strain gauges are installed in the crank spindle. Thus, they are well protected from moisture, dirt, shocks and falls.
New is the use of standard AA batteries or rechargeable AA batteries, which are also housed in the crank spindle and can be changed without tools. A battery lasts about 300 hours of riding time before a battery change is due. The data transmission uses the ANT+ standard. Thus, any ANT + capable bike computer is compatible.
In addition to the performance data, the "Torque Effectiveness" and the "Pedal Smoothness" are also transmitted. The latest bike computers support these values and can display and record them. In addition, the Rotor INPower is also fully compatible with Rotors Q-Rings (oval chainrings).
Rotor InSpider Power Meter
The Rotor INspider is a lightweight power meter housed in the crank spider. It is compatible with oval Q-Rings and all Rotor modular cranks, both 1x and 2x, for road and MTB systems.
Quality-wise, the Rotor InSpider is positioned between the InPower and 2InPower series.
The INspider has a rechargeable battery. It measures combined left-right data to accurately record power, cadence, TORQUE 360, optimum chainring angle (OCA) and an optimum chainring position (OCP) recommendation.
Rotor 2InPower crankset
The Rotor 2INpower crankset offers a dual-sided power measurement via a combined measuring system in the crank spindle and in the right crank arm. It is available in an MTB and a road version.
The technically sophisticated 2INpower power meter comes with its own software, which allows deep insights into pedaling technique.
The 2InPower is aimed primarily at professionals and ambitious amateurs.
