Wahoo Elemnt Roam 2 GPS Bike Computer

The Wahoo Elemnt Roam 2 is the new 2022 edition of the popular Wahoo Elemnt Roam. The bike computer is equipped with a 2.7'' color display and navigation function. The Roam 2 has an ambient light sensor. The screen brightness automatically adjusts to lighting conditions. One battery charge is enough for up to 17h operating time.

Equipped with Bluetooth, ANT+ and WiFi, it easily connects with sensors, smart trainers and smart phones. The Wahoo Elemnt app (iOS and Android) allows for an easy setup. The display can be configured according to your preferences.

Display

The color display measures 2.7 inches and can display 64 colors. An ambient light sensor automatically adjusts the screen brightness to the lighting conditions. Difficult climbs or the training zones are color-coded to focus the user experience on the ride.

Quicklook LEDs

Two rows of customizable LED indicators on the edges of the Roam 2 provide a quick visual cue to navigation or training zones.

Operation

The Roam 2 is operated via buttons. The buttons are now slightly raised compared to the predecessor and easier to press. The setup of the unit can be done comfortably with the Wahoo Elemnt app.

Handlebar mount

In addition to the aerodynamic handlebar mount that places the Roam 2 in front of the handlebar, a classic quarter turn mount is also included for mounting the unit on the handlebar or stem.

Battery

The battery of the Roam 2 allows for 17h of operating time. The Roam 2 is charged via a waterproof and dust-proof USB-C port.

Connectivity

Except for charging, the Roam 2 does not need to be connected to a cable. With WLAN, Bluetooth and ANT+, the Roam 2 can be paired with all common ANT+ and Bluetooth sensors (cadence, speed, heart rate, power meter, smart trainer) and also supports electronic shifting from Shimano, SRAM and Campagnolo. Smart trainers equipped with ANT+ FE-C can be controlled with the Roam 2. It offers pop-up notifications on the screen to inform about calls, SMS, emails, WhatsApp, Signal, Line, Telegram and WeChat on iOS and Android. However, this only works if the smartphone is taken along when riding.

Navigation

The Roam 2 comes with a dual band GPS receiver. This significantly improves the accuracy of the GPS tracking. This was a common problem with the predecessor, especially in the forest or in urban canyons.

The Roam 2 comes with maps of Europe, North America, Asia, Oceania and South America. Maps for Russia, Asia and Africa can be easily downloaded and installed via WiFi. Routes from Strava, Ride With GPS, and Komoot can be easily imported.

You can select an address or point of interest as a destination in the Wahoo Elemnt app. An optimized route with turn-by-turn directions is calculated and transmitted to the Roam 2 via Bluetooth. You can save your favorite locations either directly in the Roam 2 or in the Elemnt app.

The back-on-track feature guides you back to the planned route if you ever get lost.

Once connected to compatible apps (Strava, Ride With GPS, Best Bike Split, Komoot, MTB Project, SingleTracks), routes saved there are automatically and wirelessly uploaded to Roam 2. Completed rides are automatically uploaded to all paired accounts. Synchronization can be done via Bluetooth and WiFi.

Strava, Komoot, etc.

The Roam is perfectly integrated with popular applications. Strava: Track effort and live segments, including progress and final push to improve your PR or KOM. Best Bike Split: Guides you through your race with power and speed based course goals. Once the route is loaded onto Roam 2, you can also ride it indoors on a smart trainer. Komoot: turn-by-turn directions with pop-up and LED indicators for Komoot routes. Ride With GPS: Turn-by-turn directions with pop-up and LED indicators for Ride with GPS routes.

Electronic shifting

The Roam 2 is compatible with electronic shifters and displays the selected gear. The Roam 2 is compatible with Shimano Dura Ace Di2, SRAM eTAP, FSA WE and Campagnolo EPS.

Compatible sensors

The Roam 2 is compatible with a wide range of external sensors such as power meters, heart rate belts, cadence sensors or electronic shifters

Memory

The memory space has been increased from 4 to 32GB. This is more than enough space for detailed maps and saved routes and workouts.
